Metropolitan Education District (MetroED) is a regional provider of Career Technical Education (CTE) and Adult Education. As the largest organization of its kind in Santa Clara County, we are dedicated to offering career-oriented education to both high school and adult students. Annually, MetroED provides 2,600 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income-earning, and tax-paying contributors to Silicon Valley. MetroED collaborates with designated districts to provide comprehensive educational opportunities for adults and high school students. Through our Silicon Valley Career Technical Education program, we offer career technical education to high school students and, on a space-available basis, to adult students in the following districts: Campbell Union High School District, East Side Union High School District, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District, Milpitas Unified School District, San Jose Unified School District, and Santa Clara Unified School District. Additionally, our Silicon Valley Adult Education provides courses for the San Jose Unified School District.

Job Summary

Under the supervision and guidance of an assigned administrator, plan and implement learning activities that support electrical construction. Students will learn to install electrical systems in structures, install wiring and other electrical components, such as circuit breaker panels, switches, and light fixtures, and follow blueprints, the National Electrical Code and state and local codes.

Requirements / Qualifications • Possess the qualifications appropriate to deliver high-quality learning outcomes in the field of instruction. • Hold a current or be eligible to obtain the appropriate Preliminary Career Technical Education or Designated Subjects Credential or Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential - Three years of work experience directly related to general electrician. One year equals a minimum of 1000 clock hours and the experience may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid. - High school diploma requirement by one of the following methods. Possess: > a high school diploma, or > a diploma based on the passage of the GED Test, or > the foreign equivalent of a high school diploma
